Hey everyone,
Been a LONG time sense I have done anything on DA and it's been even longer sense I have uploaded anything. You can find more info in my last update journal, found here: (
Thanks for the B-day wishes / Life Update)
Essentially the TLDR is
I had been feeling burn out from both seeing all the DA online drama daily, which just got old after a while. Combined with suffering a bad case of artists block (A result from everything listed in that journal). However I have taken a break and I am going to try and be more active.
I know I said that last time, but sense my last update a lot has happened, most of it good. I feel I owe it to my followers and friends to elaborate further on my inactivity, so if you are interested you may keep reading, if not feel free to skip to the end of this journal for my future plans for myself and for this page.

I guess I am going to go ahead and start from the beginning.
I first started being active on DA back in 2011, before that I was mostly an active member of MFGG, making MLSS Sprites.
After creating my DA account I immediately was welcomed here into the Nintendo Fandom. I met many other great artists and spriters here who I would soon learn to recognize as my Friends.
At the time, my living situation was... meh... for lack of better words, I had few friends in school and really didn't get out much anyway. As time went on, the DA community had become an outlet for me. A sort of comfort zone. Where I could come and be with like minded individuals who shared my interest and passion for the same games that I loved.
From the creation of my account I started making more and more sprites and art, I enjoyed drawing and basically anything creative, I was working on stuff all the time. The more time I spent here, the better my Art/Spriting skill got. After a while (Mid 2013) I was contacted by a Small video game studio, who wanted to make a sprite based indie RPG. As anyone who has spent any length of time on this site, you know that these "Developer Studios" are nothing new. And most of the time they were just some kid with big ambitions looking for essentially free commissions. So obviously I was skeptical at first, however after looking into this group further and communicating with them further, I ended up accepting the offer. I worked with the group for a little over a year, everything I made for this group, they had paid me for. I was feeling good. I was 15/16 at the time, and I was doing what at the time was my dream.
However, as the game got closer to completion (Start of 2014) for some (Still unknown to me) reason, the head developer ceased development of our game and deleted all of her social media accounts (Including DA and Skype).
Leaving our entire team in a state of essentially "Now what" she was the only one who had access to any of the game files, and she deleted everything when she left, almost 2 years of progress... Just gone.
After this happening, I was slightly depressed (Not suicidal or anything, just extreme disappointment) I felt like I had essentially wasted the last 2 years of my artistic life. And that was essentially a true statement.
I tried to re-bound here in DA, attempting to make sprites for fun again. But after this ordeal I had developed a bad case of artists block. This just wasn't fun to me anymore.
My content slowed down significantly, and eventually I simply stopped uploading all together. (End of 2014).
And that was essentially it for what anyone could see on my DA page. I basically quit, I always wanted to come back here and upload again, but at the time I physically couldn't.
Over the next few years, I tried finding different creative outlets. I tried youtube for a while, sprite animations, traditional drawing and I even dabbled in writing for a while. However nothing clicked for me. So I instead opted to focus on school, I had never really cared much about my grades before. I never "struggled" per-say in school, but I was always a low-b/high-c student.
I graduated high school in 2015 on honor role with 21 college credits. And around this time I discovered the Super Smash Bros tournament scene, starting with finding live streams of tournaments (Start of 2015) and eventually attending my first tournament in late 2015. Similar to my start here on DA, I loved it. I attended tournaments multiple times a month, I made friends and eventually I started TOing my own events along with good friends I had made.
This was the first time in my life I had good quality friendships in person, outside of school. And long story short, that is what I have been doing for the last 2 years.
Which is what brings us to now.
As I started hosting Tournaments, I began outputting my creative energy into the scene. I made logos for tournaments, page banners, stream overlays and even dabbled in rendering and game modding.

I have learned that I did not lose my creative energy, more that I have just found different interests.
I still love Nintendo, MLSS, Pokemon, Ect. (Obviously)
Essentially... I grew up.
I have outgrown what I have done in the past, and instead of trying to re-start what I did in the past. I will be moving on.
I do plan to upload again, however this page will be seeing much less on the sprites department. I still plan to do MLSS sprites from time to time, however most of my energy is going to change to rendering and various smash artwork. I really cannot see myself doing much in terms of Pokemon sprites and Fakemon for the foreseeable future, so I apologize if that is what you have followed me more. You may still see some. However that is no longer my focus.
TLDR - Essentially, I will be uploading whatever I enjoy creating instead of trying to force upload content that correlates to the brand I had created back in 2012/2013/2014.
I hope that you all understand where I am in my artistic journey, and I hope you all can come to welcome my new content.
Thank you to all who have been bearing with me these last few years.
Thanks,
~Assassannerr
